The cabin
Built for long winter evenings
Kuukkeli is named after the Siberian jay, the grey-brown forest bird that turns up to see who has arrived. The cabin is built from kelo pine, with a stone fireplace in the living room and tall windows looking into the forest.
The sauna and washroom sit next to the entrance, so wet gear goes straight into the drying cabinet and nobody walks through the living room in ski boots. The hot tub on the terrace is heated and ready when you arrive. On a clear night it is the best seat for the northern lights.
